1970s C&B Italia 'Amanta' modular or sectional four chair sofa and coffee table designed by Mario Bellini in 1966. Produced in 1973. C&B Italia are known as B&B Italia today.
The four chairs are made from an enameled Fiberlite structure raised from the ground on four round hard black rubber feet. Each chair has three separate cushions. The removable foam block base cushion is secured in place with a small white toggle which slots into the base which stops it from sliding.
The back and upper base cushion are extremely comfortable with three feature buttons on each. The fibreglass shells are in good original condition with no chips or cracks but do have some discoloration on their underside which isn't visible but worth noting.
The cushions have been completely professionally reupholsterd in a very nice "dirty" pink fabric wich feels extremely soft.
The matching square side table or coffee table is also made of Fiberlite in white with an indented tabletop. It can be placed to fill the gap in the corner where the chairs meet or as a standalone piece if you wish.
A wonderful set which is easy to transport and well-designed for upper floor flats where a sofa won't fit up the stairs. Perfect for a TV room, den, or living room setting.
Single chair dimensions: W 80cm, D 80cm, H 86cm, SH 38cm
The coffee table is the larger size: W 84cm, D 84 x 36 cm.
