Product description
This swivel chair is the "Tirup" model designed by Carl Öjerstam for IKEA, dating from 2008. Öjerstam, a Swedish designer known for combining sculptural silhouettes with everyday functionality, gave the Tirup its distinctive high-backed, cocoon-like shell and chrome pedestal base. Upholstered in deep aubergine-purple leather, the chair swivels freely on its polished steel foot, and its enveloping curved form makes it a comfortable, statement-making addition to a living room or reading corner.
Condition and Character
Original condition with signs of use. The leather upholstery shows small scratches on the underside and base area consistent with age and normal handling, and the chrome pedestal displays light surface marks from use.
