The Salmi dining table, designed by Carl Öjerstam and Magnus Elebäck for IKEA in 1999, is a rare piece from the late nineties.
The design combines a transparent glass top with a sleek metal base, creating an airy and modern look.
The table consists of a round glass top resting on four slender, chrome-plated metal legs. A striking detail is the metal ring that supports the glass and adds a geometric accent to the whole. The combination of glass and silver-colored metal gives the table a minimalist character typical of Scandinavian design from that period.
This table is in very good condition. The glass top and the metal frame have retained their original shine, ensuring the design still looks fresh. There are a few minor scratches on the glass.
The Salmi table fits perfectly into a modern or minimalist interior. Thanks to the use of transparent materials, the table visually takes up little space, making it ideal for more compact dining areas or as a stylish addition to an open living space. The legs can be unscrewed for easy transport.
