A particularly fine example of Swedish ceramics from the Mid-Century Modern era. This distinctive table lamp was designed by Carl-Harry Stålhane for the renowned Swedish ceramics house Rörstrand. From the 1950s onwards, Stålhane was one of the most important designers within Rörstrand and is known for his expressive ceramics, where glaze and form play an important role. The lamp has a compact, almost sculptural shape with a square, rounded base. The richly variegated glaze, in particular, makes this piece special. Green, brown, grey, and coppery tones blend into each other, creating a lively surface with beautiful depth. The irregular patterns and subtle color differences are characteristic of the manual nature of this type of ceramic and make each lamp unique. The original Rörstrand mark is also present. The combination of the robust ceramic, the warm colors, and the simple black fitting makes the lamp an excellent fit for a Mid-Century, Scandinavian, or eclectic interior.
