This antique English military secretary is a beautiful example of functional campaign furniture from circa 1940. Originally intended for traveling armies and British officers, the design combines robust portability with refined craftsmanship. The piece is crafted from teak and consists of two parts. The upper section features a pull-out secretary with a red writing surface, compartments, and four small drawers positioned above two medium-sized drawers. The lower section offers two spacious drawers. The secretary is finished with original recessed brass handles, brass corner fittings, and four brass carrying handles on the sides, resting on hand-turned legs. The secretary is in good, original condition with an authentic patina that reflects the history of the furniture. The construction is sturdy and the drawers function properly. This characterful piece of furniture comes into its own perfectly in a classic or eclectic interior. It offers both a practical workspace and a striking historical accent in a study or living room.
