THE STORY:
This five-piece master bedroom suite was created by master cabinetmaker Giacomo Rondolini in Todi, Italy, and commissioned by Mr. François Villanova, French Consul in Rome, in the 1960s.
Few people have probably heard of Todi, but those in the know in Italy are well acquainted with this well-preserved medieval village. Located in central Italy, near Tuscany, Todi is one of the many towns in this region that are worth a visit, particularly for its rich tradition of classical furniture and high-quality cabinetmaking.
Indeed, the art of carpentry here represents a centuries-old tradition, preserving a wealth of knowledge and experience, and it remains a key center for this craft, where the specific qualities of Todi's artisans were forged.
