WILLEM VAN OYEN FOR RAAK – “BREUKRELIEF” WALL LAMP (1968)
Three available – sold individually
Designed in 1968 by renowned Dutch glass artist Willem van Oyen and produced by Raak Amsterdam, the Breukrelief wall lamp is a powerful fusion of sculpture and light. This rare and artistic piece features a square mirrored front with projecting shards of green-tinted glass, arranged to catch and diffuse light in a striking, abstract composition. When illuminated, the lamp casts a dramatic upward and downward glow, while the mirrored surface reflects subtle ambient light and movement.
Each lamp is in very good vintage condition, with only minor signs of age. The mirror may show light fading, and the metal frame bears gentle wear consistent with age. One of the lamps still retains its original pull cord switch, and each includes the original Raak sticker on the inside.
Fitted with two E27 sockets, the lamp delivers excellent illumination and weighs approximately 2.5 kg, ensuring a solid, high-quality build. Whether used on its own as a sculptural accent or paired with additional units, the Breukrelief adds a dramatic and artistic touch to any space.
