Gerard van den Berg designed this chair in 1983 for Montis, the furniture brand he founded with his brother. The inspiration for this chair was a beach inlet with a towel on it, but the shape is more reminiscent of a butterfly. It's also a truly relaxing chair, perfect for relaxing with a book.
The chair exemplifies Van den Berg's skill in creating furniture that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
The leather cushion has damage in the form of scratches from cat claws, particularly on the top and top/sides of the cushion. It hasn't been scratched, but the scratches are from jumping and running over the chair. The leather isn't torn, the damage isn't very visible, and the chair is usable. However, it's not perfect. This chair was previously listed on Whoppah, but because it wasn't possible to edit the text properly, the original listing was removed and a new one was created with an adjusted price.
