Product description
This writing desk was manufactured by FEKA of Istanbul, Turkey, and comes with provenance from the Hotel Gellert in Budapest, Hungary. The desk follows a French-inspired vocabulary of design, with slender cabriole legs, brass sabots, and burl walnut veneer drawer fronts fitted with sculptural brass handles. A black leather writing surface, bordered in brass, sits inset into the top, while five deep drawers offer generous storage. Suited to a home office, study, or as a characterful writing table in a living room.
Condition And Character
Original condition with signs of use throughout. The desk shows scratches and general wear consistent with decades of use, most visible on the leather top, which has surface marks and light discoloring, and on the veneer surfaces, which show scuffs and age-related wear.
