This U-460 sideboard was designed by Jiri Jiroutek for Interier Praha in the 1960s. It is distinguished by its iconic mid-century modernist design, characterized by a clean silhouette and an asymmetrical front incorporating contrasting drawers.
The frame is made of oak veneer, resting on compass legs typical of the period. The front features two hinged doors concealing a storage compartment with a shelf, as well as a series of four molded plastic drawers with black and white lacquered fronts. The dimensions of this piece are 165 cm wide, 76 cm high, and 45 cm deep. The original manufacturer's label, dated 1966, is present on the back of the piece, attesting to its authenticity and Czechoslovakian origin.
The overall condition is good, reflecting careful use over the decades. The wood retains a beautiful natural patina, and the door and drawer mechanisms remain functional. The original key is included.
This sideboard fits perfectly into a Mid-Century Modern or Scandinavian style interior. It is ideally placed in a living room or dining room, offering both practical storage and a striking visual presence.
