A beautiful stoneware teapot from the particularly fruitful period of the 1960s and 70s, when handcrafted pottery regained a prominent place in French homes.
Its generous shape retains the traces of wheel throwing, intentionally left visible and highlighted by a brown glaze with earthy, ochre, and honey tones. Variations in texture, darker speckles, and firing effects give each side a distinct character and immediately evoke the art of working with clay and fire.
The large, sculpted handle, the elongated spout, and the conical lid topped with a round knob create a robust, inviting, and highly decorative piece. It naturally finds its place among the stoneware and studio ceramics of the 1960s and 70s, but works equally well today in a contemporary interior, placed on a wooden shelf, an antique table, or amidst a collection of ceramics.
The spout has an antique sheen, visible in the photographs. This now tells the story of this piece and in no way detracts from its beautiful decorative character.
Height approximately 20 cm with its lid. Opening diameter approximately 10 cm.
