Whether you like animal bronzes, or are passionate about hunting, this bronze effigy of a stag, the king of European forests, during the bellowing period is made for you!
Created at the end of the 19th century, this subject with its brown patina is in the style of Paul-Édouard Delabrièrre (1829 - 1910), although unsigned. He specialized in casting and bronze animals in realistic postures, often during important events in the animal's life (as here, the stag's bellow). His work was influenced by Antoine-Louis Barye.
