Art Nouveau-style lamp dating from 1890-1910, characterized by its curved lines and floral motifs.
■ The decorations on this lamp fully reflect the Art Nouveau style, characterized by inspiration drawn from nature and sinuous lines. The gilded bronze base is adorned with sculpted motifs reminiscent of leaves and petals, typical of Art Nouveau. The reliefs are finely worked, with ribs and scrolls adding depth and movement. The motifs are arranged symmetrically around the base, with undulating lines that create a harmonious, organic effect.
■ The stem features slender, openwork curves, with an elegant plant motif, probably inspired by lianas or floral stems. Small ornaments representing buds or leaves enrich the design, and add refinement and continuity with the base.
■ The glass shade is signed "Muller Frères Luneville", a famous French manufacturer active in the early 20th century, renowned for its creations in worked glass, often associated with Art Nouveau and Art Deco. The frosted glass features soft, nuanced hues, from milky white to touches of violet and blue, with a cloudy, marbled effect characteristic of Muller creations. The colors and patterns evoke a twilight sky or iris petals, underlining the influence of nature so dear to Art Nouveau. The "Muller Frères Luneville" engraving visible on the lampshade attests to the expertise of the Lorraine-based manufacturer.
