Clean lines and functionality, that is what defines "The Runner Chair" by Børge Mogensen . The chair and footstool are officially called models 2254 and 2248.
It is Danish design in its purest form. The chair was designed in 1956 and produced by the (still existing) Frederica Stolefabrik. The frame is made of solid oak and the straps are all made of cane (except the footstool). Both the seat and backrest can be moved to an upright or more comfortable position.
The craftsmanship of the woodwork is refined and shows beautiful material connections.
The (headrest) cushions are made of a new Pierre Frey fabric (wool/alpaca/mohair).
The back and seat show clear signs of wear, but are completely original. With the cushion, the chair is comfortable to use.Shows signs of normal use, with a small part of the cane coming loose on the right side of the backrest and seat (see photo). This does not affect the firmness of the chair.
