A mountain souvenir that has stood the test of time without losing its charm. This brass piggy bank takes the shape of a Swiss cowbell, stout and solid, with its welded rectangular handle. The front is adorned with a colorful decal depicting the Helvetian coat of arms, a white cross on a red background, framed by edelweiss, blue gentians, and alpine flowers, with the inscription SWITZERLAND in golden letters on a burgundy band. The coin slot is located on the top. The rectangular retrieval hatch is located on the back. The small, original metal key is attached by its brown leather ribbon. Height 11 cm. Stamped brass, warm golden patina with slight traces of oxidation on the ribbon, consistent with age. Complete with its original key. Swiss tourist souvenir, 1960s-1980s. On a shelf, a desk, or in a collection of alpine souvenirs, this piggy bank evokes mountain holidays and souvenir shops of yesteryear.
