Mixed Media Art on an existing billboard poster of British singer David Bowie by Liedewey, born in Zandvoort.
Open front. Sturdy back panel.
Dimensions: 75 x 64 cm in a sturdy, thick black frame.
In near-mint condition. As good as new. Undamaged.
Purchased from Art Collection International in Abcoude, the Netherlands.
The renowned painter Karel Appel, whom she met in 1981, immediately recognized her young talent and advised her to further develop her technical skills in New York. Naturally, she followed his advice. Liedewey moved to New York, where she was accepted into the prestigious Art Student League.
Liedewey works with a wide range of materials: photos, prints, found objects, and "anything that's paint": spray cans, acrylic paint, lacquer paint, and oil paint.
