Two beautiful dining chairs by Borge Mogensen, model number 155, made by Soborg Furniture, Denmark. The design is from 1949. Along with other designers such as Arne Jacobsen and Hans Wegner, Borge Mogensen established the reputation of Danish design worldwide. Mogensen has added beautiful Danish design details to these Shell chairs: the elegant, organically shaped, light oak frames and the oval shape of the plywood teak veneer backs and seats. And beautiful visible wood joints. A comfortable yet luxurious set of Danish dining chairs. The brand is still visible (faded) on one of the two chairs, but not so much on the other. There are snaps on the bottom where a cushion would be attached. The chairs are somewhat lighter at the top due to the sun, and some joints are loose/were once glued and require attention.
The seats are a bit discoloured at the top by the sun and some connections are loose/once glued and need attention.
