Booms Glass Art Deco Vase
A striking example of Art Deco elegance by Booms Glas, this piece showcases the brand’s signature frosted relief texture — crisp, tactile, and refined. This specific model, identified as “RUBY” (No. 69), is documented in the authoritative Booms Glas catalog — confirming both its design and silhouette. De Rupel glassworks, established in 1925 in Boom, Belgium—a town nestled between Brussels and Antwerp—initially specialized in producing mold-blown beer glasses, including the iconic Duvel glass. In 1935, the company appointed Paul Heller as chief designer, who introduced decorative glassware to their repertoire. By 1936, De Rupel was renowned for its distinctive black vases adorned with hand-painted floral and architectural motifs. The factory also produced various glassware lines, such as Artver, Artlux, Boom, and Arlecchino, encompassing vases, stemware, lampshades, and vanity sets. Despite their success, De Rupel ceased operations in 1971.
