Original 1960s writing desk designed by Bohumil Landsman for Nový Domov, Czechoslovakia. A distinctive example of Czechoslovak mid-century modern design, featuring an asymmetric architectural construction with a floating three-drawer cabinet and clean geometric lines. The warm wood veneer and beautifully visible grain give the desk a strong yet understated character. The desk is preserved in its original vintage condition and has not been newly restored. It shows authentic age-related wear, including small scratches, marks and minor imperfections to the surface and edges, all consistent with its age and visible in the photographs. These traces of use contribute to the original character and patina of the piece. A highly characteristic and increasingly collectible example of post-war Czechoslovak furniture design, suitable as a writing desk, home office desk or statement piece in a contemporary interior.
