Product description
Boch Frères La Louvière Keralux Jug Vase “Fleurs de Saxe” — Belgium, Late Art Deco Period An impressive and highly decorative ceramic jug vase by Boch Frères La Louvière, produced in Belgium under the renowned Keralux line during the late Art Deco period. This striking piece is adorned with the celebrated “Fleurs de Saxe” (Flowers of Saxony) décor, one of the most recognizable and enduring patterns created by the manufactory. Inspired by the floral traditions of Saxon and Meissen porcelain, the decoration features an elegant profusion of roses, cornflowers, pansies, poppies and other colourful blossoms scattered across a luminous ivory-white ground. The vase combines decorative richness with a remarkably sculptural form. Its generously rounded body is enhanced by a subtle geometric relief, while the dramatic scroll-shaped handle, highlighted with lavish gilding, creates a strong visual presence. The interplay between the refined floral decoration and the bold architectural silhouette is characteristic of the later Art Deco years, when elegance and theatrical ornamentation often merged. The Fleurs de Saxe décor became one of the most successful and beloved patterns produced by Boch Frères and was used on a wide variety of forms. Today it remains highly sought after by collectors of Belgian ceramics and Art Deco decorative arts. Equally suitable as a collector’s piece or as a striking decorative object, this vase brings colour, warmth and historical charm to both traditional and contemporary interiors. The vase remains in very good vintage condition, with only light traces of age and minor wear to the gilding consistent with nearly a century of history. Founded in La Louvière, Boch Frères was one of Belgium’s most influential ceramic manufacturers, celebrated for combining artistic design with technical innovation. During the Art Deco era, the company produced some of the country’s finest decorative ceramics, and Keralux pieces remain admired for their quality, craftsmanship and distinctive Belgian heritage. Will be carefully packaged and well protected
