Product description
An elegant Art Deco faience decanter or liqueur vessel from the renowned Boch Frères Keramis manufactory, produced in Belgium during the 1930s and designed by Raymond Chevalier. Created in the celebrated Keralux line, this sculptural piece beautifully embodies the decorative sophistication and bold artistic language of Belgian Art Deco ceramics. The vessel features a rounded, almost architectural silhouette with a refined elongated neck, accompanied by a striking sculptural stopper finished in rich gilding. The flowing handle and metallic golden accents create a luxurious contrast against the soft ivory-white faience body. The surface is richly adorned with vivid floral compositions in deep magenta, golden yellow, warm orange, and pink tones, accented by stylised starburst motifs that reinforce the unmistakable Art Deco aesthetic. The combination of geometric ornamentation, floral exuberance, and sculptural form reflects Raymond Chevalier’s distinctive artistic vision, where modern decorative design merges with elegance and functionality. The piece remains in very good vintage condition, with only gentle wear to the gilding consistent with its age, as the object is now nearly 100 years old. Particularly notable is the presence of the original Boch Frères paper label, a rare surviving detail that adds authenticity and collectible appeal. Stamped “Keramis Boch Frères Belgique” on the underside, this piece represents the work of one of Belgium’s most celebrated ceramic manufactories. Boch Frères Keramis became internationally recognised during the interwar period for its innovative artistic collaborations, exceptional faience production, and influential role in shaping European Art Deco ceramics. Under designers such as Raymond Chevalier, the manufactory developed a highly distinctive visual identity that continues to attract collectors and design enthusiasts worldwide today. Will be carefully packaged and well protected
