Boch Frères Keramis “Fleurs de Saxe” Keralux Art Deco Vase
A refined Art Deco decorative vase produced by Boch Frères Keramis in Belgium, finished in the factory’s high-quality Keralux glaze and decorated with the celebrated Fleurs de Saxe (“Flowers of Saxony”) pattern—one of the manufactory’s most recognisable and enduring floral designs.
Inspired by the elegant porcelain traditions of 18th-century Saxony, the decoration presents an abundant composition of roses, irises, poppies, cornflowers and delicate wildflowers in a rich polychrome palette. The vivid floral bouquets are arranged across a warm ivory ground, creating a lively yet harmonious surface from every angle.
The sculptural double-baluster silhouette is distinctly Art Deco, combining strong architectural proportions with graceful curves. The elegant gilded rim and matching gold line around the base add a refined finishing touch and enhance the vase’s decorative character.
Measuring approximately 27 cm in height, it is a well-proportioned medium-sized vase, ideal as a standalone statement piece or as part of a collection of Belgian ceramics. Its colourful decoration allows it to complement both traditional and contemporary interiors.
The underside bears the original Boch Frères Keramis backstamp together with the Keralux and Fleurs de Saxe marks, confirming the authenticity of the piece and identifying both its decorative pattern and factory finish.
Condition: Very good vintage condition. No chips, cracks or restorations. The original gilding is exceptionally well preserved, with only minimal signs of age.
Founded in 1841 in La Louvière, Boch Frères Keramis became one of Belgium’s most important and influential ceramic manufacturers. During the 1920s and 1930s, the factory played a significant role in the development of Belgian Art Deco ceramics, successfully combining artistic innovation with outstanding industrial craftsmanship. Today, Boch Frères Keramis remains one of the most respected names in Belgian decorative arts, with its finest works preserved in museum collections and highly sought after by collectors around the world.
