This authentic Totum floor or table lamp, designed by architects Boccato, Gigante, and Zambusi for Zerbetto Padova in the 1970s, is an iconic piece of Italian experimental and industrial lighting design. Featuring a low-profile dome silhouette, it bridges the gap between utilitarian industrial machinery and sleek Mid-Century sculpture.
The lamp is crafted with a durable molded off-white polymer casing, framed by a striking black geometric rubber gasket that holds the heavy prismatic textured diffuser lens. This technical lens scatters light evenly, producing a warm, atmospheric ambient glow whether placed on the floor or a low sideboard. The underside retains the prominent original molded manufacturer’s signature, ZERBETTO PADOVA-ITALY design: Boccato, Gigante, Zambusi Architetti Totum, providing indisputable authenticity for collectors.
Arriving in very good preserved vintage condition, the lamp has been professionally cleaned, sanitized, and fully tested. The synthetic body and lens remain intact with small small surface cracks near the tightening screws, which have been repaired. They do not affect the use of the lamp in any way. Small portions of the lacquer are missing. Complete with its original wiring, black cord, and foot/inline switch.
How to Clean and maintain the plastic body and textured lens? Gently Dust the outer casing and lens using a dry, ultra-soft microfiber cloth to remove surface particles.
Washing & Deep Cleaning: Clean the Body and diffuser lens with a soft cloth dampened with warm water and a drop of pH-neutral dish soap. Always Ensure the lamp is unplugged and completely dry before switching it back on.
What to Avoid: Never Use alcohol, acetone, glass cleaner sprays, or abrasive scouring pads, as they will cloud or scratch the molded plastic and lens surface. Keep Away from direct heat sources.
