A classic ceramic lamp designed by Aldo Londi for Bitossi, Italy. One of the most iconic designs of the Italian mid-century modern movement, this pottery lamp beautifully showcases Aldo Londi's mastery of colour, texture, and form. Its simple, balanced silhouette is enriched by the distinctive blue glaze, featuring a vibrant azure blue contrasted with warm chocolate brown accents. Intricately impressed geometric motifs wrap around the surface, creating a rich tactile quality that has become synonymous with Bitossi's most collectible designs. The top features teak. The remarkable glazing, with its depth of colour and subtle tonal variations, gives the lamp a sculptural presence, making it equally striking as a functional table lamp or as a standalone decorative object. Its timeless aesthetic complements interiors ranging from mid-century modern and Scandinavian to contemporary spaces. Handcrafted in Italy, the vase exemplifies the exceptional craftsmanship and artistic innovation that established Bitossi as one of the foremost names in post-war Italian ceramics. Height: 37 cm including the lamp fitting. Diameter: 15 cm. A highly collectible and enduring example of Italian modernist design. It is in very good condition. No chips or cracks. The base has a slight irregularity from the original production, and a protective felt tip has been added. The lamp is currently fitted with a European (EU) standard plug, suitable for Sweden and many other EU countries. A US or UK plug can be fitted free of charge upon request. Lampshades are not included in the price.
