Bistro table made from an upcycled sewing machine table.
It's a creative combination of two different elements:
• The base: This is an authentic cast iron base from an antique Singer sewing machine. The "SINGER" brand name is clearly visible in the casting. These types of bases originally featured a treadle (still visible at the bottom) to mechanically power the sewing machine.
• The tabletop: The original wooden top of the sewing machine has been replaced with a modern, robust top made of end-grain or strip parquet. The different shades of wood give the table a warm, artisanal look that complements the industrial look of the iron.
This type of furniture is often used in bistros or vintage interiors because it has character and creates a beautiful contrast between industrial metal and warm wood.
