Product description
A traditional Beni Ourain Moroccan rug, handwoven in the Atlas Mountains. This piece is defined by its striking geometric composition, blending the classic Berber zigzag motif with bold, contemporary colour blocking in earth tones.
Crafted entirely from wool, the rug features a deep, plush pile characteristic of the Beni Ourain weaving technique. The design is divided into distinct sections: a cream upper half with dark brown zigzag lines, and a lower half featuring broad blocks of terracotta, ochre, and deep brown. The piece measures 300 centimetres in length and 200 centimetres in width, finished with traditional braided tassels at one end. The reverse side reveals the tight, flat-woven structure in contrasting green and white stripes, demonstrating the authenticity of its handmade construction.
The rug is in excellent condition, appearing unused with a full, even pile. The natural variations in the wool and the slight irregularities in the pattern are inherent to the artisanal weaving process and contribute to its authentic character.
