Karlovy Vary, Bohemia. The city of spas, colonnades, and Becherovka. Since 1807, Jan Becher has been distilling his herbal liqueur there according to a secret recipe known by only two people at a time. This porcelain miniature is a discreet and charming testament to that. It is a miniature liqueur cup on a pedestal, barely 7 cm high, with its fine handle, gilded on the inside, and a gilded rim. The ivory white porcelain features the complete advertising decor in cobalt blue: "BECHER'S LIQUEUR" in large letters, "JAN BECHER KARLOVY VARY", the Trade Mark logo, and the mention of Carlsberg, the brand's distributor. Flared truncated cone shape, meticulous finish. Czechoslovak advertising porcelain production, 1960s-1980s. Intact porcelain, vibrant gilding. For the vintage advertising collector, the Becherovka enthusiast, or simply anyone who loves objects with a story behind them.
