Rare black leather Brutalist armchair, designed by Sonja Wasseur Atelier, Netherlands, 1970s. Crafted with a black-stained oak frame and thick dark brown leather cushions, the armchair is paired with a canvas seat and a chrome-plated, adjustable backrest. The backrest offers multiple seating positions thanks to its adjustable height and depth, providing both comfort and versatility. Notable details include the exposed structural elements, sculptural proportions, and the headrest with characteristic leather buckles. A strong example of Dutch Brutalism, the armchair reflects Wasseur's signature expression of bold, geometric forms and craftsmanship. Produced in a very limited edition in her Amsterdam studio, this armchair exemplifies the striking aesthetic and artisanal construction of Dutch design from this period. Signs of wear consistent with age and use. Dimensions: Height 74–84 cm, Width 85 cm, Depth 80 cm, Seat height 35 cm, Armrests 40 cm.
