Crystal vase with gilded tops from the "Cristallerie" of Bayel. Bayel is a small town in the French Champagne region where the inhabitants largely make their living in glassblowing.
This beautiful table piece is inspired by aquatic life, especially the sea anemone. The shape of the bowl is reminiscent of a flower and waves, but you could also see flames in it. The tops of the waves are gilded with 18-carat gold leaf as is the bottom. This masterpiece was made in the 1950s in a small edition.
