This Bauhaus-style serving cart was originally designed by Robert Slezák in the 1930s and later manufactured by Kovona, a nationalized Czechoslovak company that consolidated leading tubular steel furniture producers including Slezák, Vichr, and others. Kovona was founded in 1948, and this model represents the continuity of high-quality functionalist production into the postwar era.
The structure features a clean-lined chrome-plated tubular steel frame supporting two black-stained wooden trays. A minimalist side handle doubles as a magazine rack, while original industrial wheels complete the streamlined look. The wooden elements have been fully restored, and the chrome frame remains in very good vintage condition with a polished finish. A beautiful piece of utilitarian design with true historical pedigree.
