Rare Bauhaus pendant lamp from around 1930 with a characteristically stepped opal glass shade. The clean, architectural form is typical of the Bauhaus and Art Deco periods and creates a serene, timeless look. The milky opal glass produces a pleasantly soft, even light and is in very good condition with only a few minor air bubbles from the manufacturing process.
The original white Bakelite finial and ceiling rose show a light, authentic patina; a small hairline crack has been professionally repaired. The lamp has been rewired and fitted with a period-correct ceramic socket and is ready for immediate use. A beautiful, rather rare Bauhaus piece with a clear geometric presence. The glass shade measures approximately 25 cm in height and diameter, the overall height is approximately 50 cm, and it uses an E27 socket.
