A “Batuka” extendable dining table designed by Franco Menna for Porro in the 1970s, embodying a rigorous design approach where formal simplicity and constructive research coexist in perfect balance.
The light birch surfaces interact with the geometric plywood structure, intentionally left visible along the edges as a distinctive graphic feature of the design. The compact proportions and clean lines create an extremely rational and architectural presence, characteristic of certain Italian productions of the period.
The central extension system allows the tabletop to expand easily while preserving the visual coherence of the piece. A minimal yet highly present table, suitable for contemporary domestic interiors as well as studios or showrooms.
