Superb copy of the world-famous Athena Minerva from the Acropolis. This mourning, pondering Athena Minerva is a magnificent example of a bas-relief from around 460 BC. Concerns here a plaster copy (probably) from the 1950s that has been very accurately recreated. In the image we see Athena pondering, leaning on her spear with the other hand on her hip. Athena is dressed in a peplos, a typical Greek robe with fine pleats. Furthermore, she wears a clearly visible Corinthian helmet. Athena stands before a stele, topped by an owl, as a sign of her wisdom.
28 cm high, 17 cm wide and about 2 cm thick. Weight about 1050 grams, so heavy quality. Given the age (1950s) and the material (plaster) in very good condition. On the right side two small damages to the edge, image itself is flawless.
Will be packed very carefully and pictures of the packing will be sent to the buyer before shipping. Comes without easel, can be hung via hook on back.
