For sale is the most famous and desirable armchair in the history of design: the Lounge Chair and Ottoman, designed by the legendary couple Charles and Ray Eames in 1956.
This is a 100% authentic piece produced by Vitra for the European market (Vitra markings and label present), and not a copy. This guarantees perfect craftsmanship, materials, and proportions, allowing it to stand the test of time and increase in value.
This version is the most sought-after, combining:
• Molded plywood shells with a Santos rosewood veneer (a dark wood with spectacular grain).
• Soft and comfortable black leather cushions.
• A black-lacquered aluminum swivel base with polished sides.
This is more than just an armchair; it's an icon of Mid-Century Modern style and a symbol of absolute comfort.
Condition: The armchair is in very good structural condition. The leather is well-maintained, supple, and displays a beautiful patina of use, with no tears.
Important (note): The armchair has discoloration on the wooden shell on the left side (see photos). This area has been exposed to more light and has lightened over time. This is a normal sign of its use, but it is important to note it. This cosmetic defect is factored into the sale price, which is therefore very attractive compared to its usual price.
