A beautiful and authentic piece of Belgian craftsmanship by the famous ceramist Roger Guérin (1896-1954) from Bouffioux.
This object (model VA15) is a beautiful example of the Art Deco period in which Guérin experimented with shapes and glazes. It is a vide-poche / dish with a diameter of 16 cm. The piece is made of his characteristic salted stoneware (grès salé).
Features:
• Glaze: A striking contrast between the robust, brownish-gray exterior and a deep, glossy turquoise/purple/ochre-colored interior.
• Markings: Fully signed on the underside with the Guérin stamp and the hand-scratched model number
VA15d16
• Unique detail: Features the original studio sticker (partially legible), which significantly enhances authenticity and collectible value.
• Dimensions: Diameter 16 cm, height approx. 5.5 cm. Condition:
The piece is in good condition with light signs of use consistent with its age; there appears to be a small chip missing from the glaze on the rim. See the photos for a good impression of the glaze and the signature.
