Product description
A beautiful and unique example of an authentic Tibetan sideboard (also known as a 'Gari'). This piece of furniture dates from the late 19th or early 20th century and is a jewel in any interior (Bohemian, Eclectic, or Modern). Features of authenticity: Painting: Fully hand-painted with traditional Tibetan motifs (including the Snow Lion/Dragon) using original mineral pigments. Craftsmanship: Equipped with traditional wooden spindle hinges (no modern metalwork) and hand-carved back panels (visible traces of manual tooling). Material: Solid wood with a beautiful, weathered lacquer finish (patina) on the top. Dimensions: Length: 142 cm Height: 87 cm Depth/Width: 56 cm (offers plenty of extra storage space!) Condition: The cabinet is in excellent antique condition. The natural 'workspaces' of the wood and the slight crazing in the lacquer confirm the age and authenticity of this collector's item.
