This "Astronaut" table lamp was designed in the 1960s by Jan Suchan for the Czechoslovakian manufacturer Elektrosvit. The design is a classic example of the space-age aesthetic of that era, characterized by its cylindrical shape and striking color scheme.
The lamp is made of plastic and features a red outer casing with a white, translucent inner shade. The top cover is adorned with concentric rings and ventilation slots reminiscent of space instruments. The design allows for a soft, diffused light emission that pleasantly illuminates the room.
The lamp is in very good condition, showing only minimal signs of age-related wear and is fully functional. The original plastic parts are intact, and the colors have retained their vibrancy.
