DESCRIPTION:
The Lamino armchair by Yngve Ekström is a true design classic. With over 250,000 units produced, the Lamino armchair is one of the most successful pieces of Swedish furniture. Lamino took the design world by storm in 1956 and is now an iconic piece of furniture found in many homes both within and outside of Scandinavia. When readers of Sköna Hem magazine voted for the furniture of the 20th century in 1999, Lamino emerged as the clear winner. A clear commitment to Yngve Ekström's timeless design philosophy.
When Ekström designed the Lamino, he found his inspiration in the human body. Lamino is therefore not only pleasing to the eye, but also to the body. The reclining seat encourages you to lean back naturally, while the curved backrest provides support in precisely the right places. Lamino promotes optimal posture, especially when paired with the matching footstool.
Lamino is a prime example of timeless design, where natural materials and meticulous craftsmanship have resulted in a bestseller.
The armchair and footstool feature a frame made of laminated and molded ash wood. The seat, backrest, and headrest are upholstered in nubuck leather, with the backrest even being covered on both sides. The underside of the seat has a reinforcing linen lining. The footstool and armchair are upholstered in the same soft and comfortable leather. Even the upholstery buttons are made of this same leather.

Any gloss or grayish or milky appearance in the photos is due to the lighting and/or reflections. The surfaces have a satin to semi-gloss finish.

CONDITION:
Stunning, like new! This is something truly special, something that will definitely make any collector's heart beat faster. You might only come across something like this once in a lifetime. Signs of wear? Virtually none, or if any, so minimal that we didn't notice them! Simply unique, museum-quality condition! This set came from the estate of an elderly lady and was stored covered for decades.
