DESCRIPTION:
With its ample space and very comfortable upholstery, this armchair is the perfect place to relax. The armchair is particularly impressive due to its workmanship, in which the leather on the seat and back cushions has been neatly stitched by hand with a leather strap seam by the de Sede master upholsterers. The armrests are also positioned as a special detail. They are reminiscent of a twisted musical note and give the DS-31 models of the first series an unmistakable character. A true de Sede masterpiece with a very high recognition value.
CONSTRUCTION:
swivel steel-wood frame with the classic de Sede "Space Age" base of the 1960s made of highly polished aluminum (today's DS-31s have a different look); backrest and seat form a single unit and are connected to the base via the rocker mechanism (adjustable and wear-free torsion bar spring); Armrest modules are bolted to the side of the seat unit using steel components; seat cushions are form-fitting; backrest cushions are fixed on the back with integrated reinforcement for the chrome-plated insertion hooks; both cushions have a zipper;

The photos are high exposed, so that the 1a condition is also visible in detail! Colors are generally brighter as a result. The shadow areas or the areas not directly illuminated by the photo light best reflect the natural color tones. Gloss on the photos or grayish or milky areas are also due to exposure or lighting (reflections). The leather surfaces are silk matt to silk gloss.

CONDITION:
As good as new! This noble lounge chair is technically and optically in an impeccable and unique condition. It has been completely restored by the restorer according to TOP-Designclassix quality guidelines in the traditional way and looks - apart from the typical leather creases - like new. The high-quality aniline-dyed leather has been regenerated, recolored, sealed and reapplied by the leather technician, as it has lost some of its color intensity over the years. The leather has no stains, scratches, tears or holes and is completely odorless. The casual upholstery is beautifully firm and voluminous. The original de sede upholstery fabric is in perfect condition. The base was dismantled, the mechanism serviced, and the aluminum was reground and then polished. Result: If you are looking for a timeless classic Series 1 chair with the original leather upholstery in top condition, you are welcome to search the Internet worldwide - you won't find a better one!

This DS-31 Lounge Chair is no longer available in this version with the polished Space Age aluminum base and rocker mechanism. Today's re-edition of the DS-31 /111 has a steel base and no rocker mechanism! In the "Living" leather group in black no. 2811, the re-edition currently costs 7005 euros (source: authorized dealer dieter-horn.de). Due to the significantly higher production costs, the classic version offered here is likely to be considerably more expensive.
OUR PRICE:
Our Whoppah price includes the Whoppah gross commission totaling 19.36% (16% net commission + 21% pro rata Dutch VAT).
TRANSPORT:
We have found that transportation by Whoppah courier is sometimes considerably (100-150%) higher than the market price of the usual removal companies and furniture couriers! We can organize a cheaper transport within Germany, to the Netherlands, to neighbouring German countries or an EU transport for you if necessary. Inexpensive non-EU transportation by general cargo forwarder in a special wooden crate may also be possible.
