Art Deco potiche in hand-painted Arzberg porcelain, made in the 1930s. Ø 15.5 cm h 12 cm. Arzberg Porcelain is a German porcelain brand with a history dating back to 1887. It is internationally renowned for its modern, functional, and timeless design, which has made it a classic of industrial design. The company was founded in 1887 in Arzberg, Bavaria, at a time when the "Made in Germany" label was emerging as a mark of quality. Arzberg's philosophy has always focused on blending functionality and aesthetics. The goal was to create high-quality tableware for everyday use that was both practical and beautiful, reducing excessive decoration in favor of clarity of form. The brand's history is inextricably linked to designers who revolutionized the concept of table porcelain: Dr. Hermann Gretsch (1930s): His most famous project, Form 1382 (from 1931), is considered a masterpiece of modern design. It is one of the few porcelain objects exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York and has won numerous international awards. Heinrich Löffelhardt (1950s): He designed the famous Form 2000 collection, continuing the tradition of functionality. Michael Sieger: Creator of the TRIC series (late 1990s), another great design success.
