The Artifort F194 lounge armchair, also known as the āAmbassadorā, was designed by Geoffrey D. Harcourt for Artifort. Harcourt, trained at the Royal College of Art in London and awarded the title of Royal Designer for Industry in 1978, brought a clear focus on comfort to the Artifort collections with his philosophy of āman first, then the chairā.
The design of this model dates back to the 1970s and 80s and is known for its inviting shape, swivel lounge character, and timeless appearance. The version with black leather and a polished aluminium star base gives the armchair a luxurious and powerful presence, while the design fits effortlessly into both modern and classic interiors.
The armchair is in good used condition. The leather is completely intact and shows light, age-related signs of use on the seat and armrests, fitting the vintage character. If desired, the surface can be further refreshed with a suitable leather product.
