The Artemide Pausania Table Lamp, designed by the Italian Ettore Sottsass in 1983, has a decorative and somewhat stately appearance. The design is inspired by ancient Greek temples with distinctive pillars and a prominent plinth. With a height of 43 cm and a width of 48 cm, this is the original version. The lamp is in good condition and functions properly.
Born in 1917, Ettore Sottsass was not only an influential designer but also an important figure in the postmodern design movement. In the 1980s, he founded the Memphis Group, known for its eclectic and colorful designs that challenged traditional notions of good taste. The designs of this group are characterized by the use of bright colours, asymmetrical shapes and unconventional materials.
