With this original pair of Artemide Megaron Parete wall lights, you acquire two of the most elegant Italian designer wall lamps from the late 1970s. Designed by Gianfranco Frattini for Artemide, the model combines an uncompromisingly minimalist design language with an extraordinary lighting effect. The characteristic silhouette, protruding obliquely from the wall, gives the lamp a sculptural presence that acts like an architectural object even when switched off.
The Megaron was created in 1979 as a complement to the now legendary Megaron floor lamp and follows the same design philosophy: light is not directly visible, but is directed into the room glare-free and atmospherically through the refined geometry of the lamp. The distinctive central slit and the clear, monolithic form make the Megaron a timeless classic of Italian minimalism. The design was internationally recognized shortly after its introduction and is still one of Frattini's significant designs today.
The pair offered here is in excellent original condition. The white lacquered metal housings are exceptionally well-maintained and impress with a uniform surface without significant signs of wear. Both lamps are equipped with the original manufacturer labels and fully retain their authentic appearance. The mounting plates are available for both lamps.
The manufacturer Artemide, founded in Milan in 1960, is one of the most renowned lighting manufacturers in the world. The company has worked with the most important designers of the 20th century and still stands for the combination of innovative lighting technology, highest manufacturing quality and iconic Italian design. Many Artemide luminaires have long been classics of international design collections.
The designer Gianfranco Frattini (1926–2004) was one of the defining representatives of Italian post-war design. As an architect and furniture designer, he understood like no other how to combine function, material and form into a harmonious unity. His works are characterized by exceptional clarity, timeless elegance and high design discipline. The Megaron is one of his best-known lighting designs and is still produced by Artemide in a modernized version – an impressive testament to its lasting design relevance.
