The Artemide Gaia is a postmodern chandelier designed by Orni Halloween (the pseudonym of Ernesto Gismondi) in the 1990s for the Italian lighting brand Artemide. The design breaks radically with the traditional crystal chandelier by employing a bright, multicolored composition in the style of the Memphis movement. This fixture serves as a prominent and colorful design object that adds structure and character to a modern, minimalist, or eclectic interior.
This version of the Artemide Gaia is built around a central layered glass element in deep red, from which various whimsically curved arms spring in contrasting colors such as green, intense blue, yellow, and amber. Each individual component is crafted from high-quality, hand-blown Murano glass and terminates in a goblet-shaped glass reflector that encloses the light source. The pendant lamp is equipped with multiple light points that ensure an even, atmospheric light distribution without direct glare. The original brand marking is located on the fixture to guarantee authenticity and Italian origin.
