Beautiful, authentic Art Deco earthenware vase by Céramique Montoise (Bergen, Belgium), designed in the 1920s/1930s under the direction of Antoine Dubois. This vase is executed in the recognizable, hand-painted matte glaze style that strongly competed with Gouda earthenware at the time. The decoration consists of stylized, organic floral motifs in bright, contrasting colors against a dark background. A substantial and heavy quality piece that immediately adds character to a vintage, eclectic, or modern Art Deco interior. Details & Features: Origin: Céramique Montoise (C.M. BERGEN), Belgium. Designer: Antoine Dubois. Period: Art Deco (ca. 1925). Model number: 772 2 (fully marked on the underside, including blind stamps and painter's signature). Height: 19 cm. Weight: 1239 grams. Condition: The vase is in absolutely perfect condition. The glaze and colors are beautifully intact. No chips, no restorations, and no hairline cracks. The vase has a beautiful, clear sound when tapped ('pings' perfectly), confirming its top structural quality. There is only slight roughness on the unglazed foot ring at the bottom, inevitable for its age. It will, of course, be packed with the utmost care and securely for shipping via Whoppah.
