The full elegance of interwar tables is found in this charming sugar bowl, a piece as decorative as it is refined, characteristic of the Art Deco years. The gilt metal mount is crafted with a particularly successful design. Stylized roses punctuate a succession of stepped geometric lines, in a manner very characteristic of the period, where the floral repertoire inherited from the beginning of the century transformed to become more graphic, more ordered, almost architectural. The movable polygonal handle further accentuates this modernity. Its highly structured design echoes the decoration of the mount and contrasts beautifully with the roundness of the bowl. The inner molded glass insert interacts beautifully with light. Its radiating base and regular fluting create a succession of reflections that blend with the warm hues of the gilt metal. The set also retains its pierced sifting spoon, delicately crafted and adorned on its handle. Its presence gives full meaning to the object and evokes the sophistication of an era where even sugar was presented with elegance. Some traces and variations in patina naturally attest to its age and preserve all the charm of an object that has endured for almost a century. Diameter approximately 11 cm.
