Quite a large and heavy buffet cabinet or sideboard from the 1920-1930 period.
The cabinet consists of two parts: an upper section with two small display cabinets, one on the left and one on the right, each with a glass shelf. The doors and sides feature bevelled glass, and there is a bevelled mirror in the center, between the display cabinets.
The upper cabinet stands on a pink/white marble top – please note: it is broken into two pieces. This is difficult to see in the photos, as the crack blends in with the marble pattern. As a result, the damage is less noticeable, and there is another advantage: the top is easier to transport :).
The lower cabinet consists of three storage sections: the cabinets on the left and right each have two shelves, there are 2 drawers in the middle section, and below that is a space with 1 shelf. Due to the depth of the cabinet, it offers a remarkable amount of storage space.
It is truly a versatile piece of furniture; we have enjoyed it ourselves for over ten years, but it is time for something different. Dimensions: widest point at the bottom 155cm, depth 54.5, total height (top of mirror) 175cm, base cabinet height: 113.5 cm.
All hardware is original, and apart from the marble, the cabinet has a few other subtle damages (a small piece of black veneer from the geometric pattern on the doors is missing – see photo – as is the case on the legs). The wood itself is in very good condition, especially considering its age.
Please note: the base cabinet is one piece, the doors cannot be detached, and it is made of solid oak. The drawers and shelves can be removed, and the marble can be taken off.
