Product description
A special pair of Art Deco bedside tables from circa 1930. The cabinets feature a marble top, a drawer at the top, and an open side shelf. The design clearly displays the geometric lines so characteristic of the Art Deco period.
The wood has a pronounced striped pattern in the Macassar style. This type of wood decoration was widely used in the 1920s and 1930s due to the strong contrast in the grain and the luxurious character it imparted to furniture.
The front panels feature hand-carved wood carvings with floral and leaf motifs. This artisanal detail provides a beautiful counterpoint to the sleek, geometric structure of the cabinets and is often seen in furniture from the transition from Jugendstil to Art Deco.
The combination of the contrasting wood, the marble top, and the decorative carving makes this a striking and characterful pair. Due to their size, they are suitable as bedside tables, but also as small side tables next to a sofa or armchair.
