For sale is a table lamp, extremely rare, especially in this condition, dating from the transition between Art Deco and Bauhaus in the 1920s or 1930s. It is attributed to the Bauhaus artist Marianne Brandt as an early design.
The lamp is in excellent condition with only a minimal dent in the base. The Bakelite of the shade and stand is flawless. The lampshade is adjustable and holds any tilted position.
Of this already very rare lamp, this is one of the very few examples where the Bakelite color of the shade and neck is exactly the same, where the brass ring is still present on the shade, and where the shade has not been replaced.
The lamp has been meticulously and gently cleaned of decades of accumulated grime, some call it "patina," and rewired. Now this nearly 100-year-old lamp shines like new.
