Product description
Superb handcrafted ceramic vase attributed to the French ceramist Gilbert Méténier, recognizable by his incised signature on the base.
Its bulbous shape with double handles gives it a sculptural presence, while its nuanced glaze reveals remarkable drip work in shades of olive green, celadon, and deep blue. Each piece is unique, and the variations in color and texture attest to true workshop expertise.
This type of production is in keeping with the tradition of French art ceramics from the mid-20th century, in the spirit of the Vallauris workshops and the ceramic revival of the 1950s–70s.
